External Quality Assessment (EQA)
EQA is an important component of laboratory quality assurance. It helps assess the performance of laboratory testing, identify gaps, and improve the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
NPHRRLC contributes to laboratory quality improvement through EQA-related activities, including work associated with malaria microscopy in West Oromia.
EQA Activities
The Center’s EQA-related work supports the assessment and improvement of laboratory testing performance. Relevant activities include:
Proficiency assessment
Assessing laboratory professionals' ability to perform and interpret malaria microscopy tests using prepared assessment materials.
Performance evaluation
Reviewing test results to identify strengths and gaps in diagnostic performance.
Technical support
Supporting assessment activities in collaboration with participating laboratories and relevant health institutions.
Quality improvement
Identifying areas where laboratory professionals may need additional training, guidance, or corrective action.
